Tactical voting
Castle Point
Why vote Labour in Castle Point?
Castle Point has generally been a Conservative seat, although Labour had a one-off victory in 1997. By 2019 the Conservatives had built up a very large majority, although this was helped on that occasion by the Brexit Party, now called Reform UK, not standing; Castle Point is a strongly Leave voting area. With Reform UK standing in this election, the right wing vote is divided and the seat could be surprisingly marginal. The latest polling shows that the Conservatives have only a narrow lead over Labour in Castle Point, although things can change during election campaigns and polls have been in error in previous elections. Voters wishing to see a change of government should vote for Labour.
