The town remains in the seat but it adds several communities formerly in the North Wiltshire seat, such as Royal Wootton Bassett, Calne and Rudloe. Chippenham was a Lib Dem seat on the old boundaries in 2010-15 and remains a seat that the local Lib Dems regard as a potential win. Polling indicates that the Conservatives have lost considerable support since 2019 but that it is possible that they could retain the seat because the anti-Tory majority is divided.
