Tactical voting
Clacton
Why vote Labour in Clacton?
It is not a good idea to vote Conservative to defeat Nigel Farage in Clacton. Labour can win here. The Clacton constituency will be one of the most interesting and important contests in the 2024 election. It has an unusual electoral history: the predecessor seat of Harwich was Labour in 1997 and 2001, and Clacton itself voted for UKIP in 2014-17. Since 2017 it has been Conservative, and the Tories won a massive majority when the right wing was united in the 2019 election. With the right wing vote divided between Conservative and Reform, Labour can win but they need help from Lib Dem and Green voters.
