East Worthing and Shoreham

Our tactical voting recommendation in East Worthing and Shoreham:
Vote Labour

Why vote Labour in East Worthing and Shoreham?

East Worthing and Shoreham has been a Conservative seat since it was created in 1997 but Labour support in the area has been on an upward trend. Labour has done well in local government elections in the two district councils in the seat (Adur and Worthing), winning control of both of them for the first time. Labour had a large lead over the Conservatives in the votes cast in the May 2024 local elections, with the Greens a long way behind in third. Latest polling shows Labour comfortably ahead of the Conservatives in general election voting intention here, but polls have tightened during campaigns before and been in error in some previous elections. Labour’s lead is also vulnerable to the Conservatives squeezing the third-placed Reform UK vote, if Green and Lib Dem supporters - for whom this is not a target seat - do not also vote tactically.
