Tactical voting
Forest of Dean
Why vote Labour in Forest of Dean?
Forest of Dean constituency is a mainly rural seat with a mining and Labour heritage - the seat was most recently represented by Labour in 1997-2005. However, the Conservatives had built up a large majority by the time of the 2019 election. The Green Party has done well in local government elections in the constituency, but local elections do not translate directly into general elections and the contest is between the two parties that might lead a government - Conservative or Labour. Supporters of other parties wishing to cast an effective vote for change are urged to back Labour.
