Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes

Our tactical voting recommendation in Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes:
Vote Labour

Why vote Labour in Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes?

Great Grimsby was a Labour seat from 1945 until the Conservatives gained it in 2019 on a large swing. Latest polling shows Labour comfortably ahead of the Conservatives in general election voting intention here, but polls have tightened during campaigns before and been in error in some previous elections. Labour’s lead has fluctuated and is currently dependent on a split vote on the right between the Conservatives and Reform UK. If the right were to group around one candidate, Labour’s chances would depend on progressive voters doing likewise. Neither the Lib Dems nor the Greens regard Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes as a target seat.
