Tactical voting
Hendon
Why vote Labour in Hendon?
Hendon is a seat that Labour held from 1997 to 2010 but the Conservatives regained it when they came to power nationally in 2010. It has remained a closely-contested seat between Labour and the Conservatives. Labour has made progress in local elections in Barnet, winning control of the borough in 2022. No other parties have done well in Barnet elections and only Labour regards Hendon as a target seat. The latest polling shows Labour just ahead of the Conservatives. Our research finds that Hendon voters are among the most willing to cast a tactical vote, so Greens and Lib Dems voting for Labour will not find themselves alone here.
