Hertford and Stortford

Our tactical voting recommendation in Hertford and Stortford:
Vote Labour

Why vote Labour in Hertford and Stortford?

Hertford and Stortford has been a Conservative constituency since it was created in 1983, usually by a secure margin. However, social and political change have made it less of a stronghold, as demonstrated by the massive Conservative losses to several parties in the May 2023 local elections, and the Tory majority here over Labour being smaller in 2019 than it was in 2015 or 2010. While Greens and Lib Dems can win wards in local elections, the parliamentary seat is a contest between the Conservatives and Labour and it is not being targeted by any other party. The latest polling shows that Labour has a clear lead over the Conservatives in Hertford and Stortford. The party lead has fluctuated between the Tories and Labour with other parties far behind. What is clear is that it is a real contest, and voters wishing to defeat the Conservative government should unite behind Labour in Hertford and Stortford.
