Why vote Labour in Heywood and Middleton North?

Heywood and Middleton North is a slightly altered version of the previous constituency of Heywood and Middleton - as the name suggests, it loses a section from the south of the town of Middleton. This change is enough to have overturned the narrow Conservative gain from Labour in Heywood and Middleton in the 2019 election. Labour was more than 20 points ahead of the Conservatives in the local elections here in May 2024, and in the context of a general election the party’s lead appears to be even bigger. Labour can be expected to gain the seat.
