Tactical voting

Watford

Our tactical voting recommendation in Watford:
Vote Labour

Why vote Labour in Watford?

Latest Watford polling shows Labour with a clear but not overwhelming lead over the Conservatives in this constituency, but polls have tightened during campaigns before and been in error in some previous elections. The third-placed Liberal Democrat vote is big enough, given what appears to be a low swing in Watford, to threaten Labour’s chances of winning but not give a win to the Lib Dems. Watford is a stronghold of Lib Dem support in local council and mayoral elections but this has never translated into general election support and is unlikely to start doing so in 2024. No party other than Labour regards it as a target seat. Lib Dems supporting Labour are in good company, as a relatively high proportion of people in Watford are interested in voting tactically to defeat the government.
