Tactical voting

Whitehaven and Workington

Our tactical voting recommendation in Whitehaven and Workington:
Vote Labour

Why vote Labour in Whitehaven and Workington?

Whitehaven and Workington is a new constituency which combines parts of the previous Copeland and Workington seats. Copeland was a Conservative gain from Labour in a 2017 by-election and Workington (home of ‘Workington Man’, whose support was sought by the main parties) followed in 2019. Latest polling shows Labour comfortably ahead of the Conservatives in this constituency, but polls have tightened during campaigns before and been in error in some previous elections. Additionally, estimates for constituencies where there have been large boundary changes are sometimes inaccurate. No party other than Labour regards it as a target seat.
